“Beth I Hear You Calling”, completed August 2011

83″x83″ by Sandy Mercado of Roanoke, TX

This is a quilt made by one of my clients, which I quilted for her.  It has significant ditch outline quilting, some curved cross-hatching, pebbling and feathers.  Designs were selected to increase the romantic feeling of these fabrics.  I also place high importance on creating secondary quilting designs on the quilt – designs that don’t always follow the piecing (ie., the pebbled ribbons that intersect the stars).   Two battings were used – 80/20 and a layer of Hobbs polydown on the top.  All threads are Superior So Fine.  This quilt represents 25 hours of quilting.  It was entered at the 2011 Lowell Quilt Festival, and received 3rd best bed quilt!
