Machine Quilting Charges
Quilting -
- light and medium density stippling $0.0135per sq.in.
- An all-over/Edge-to-edge either freehanded or Pantograph style – $0.0145 to 0.0175 per sq.in. (see specific patterns for pricing)
- Custom Quilting – Price is based on complexity, ranging from approximately $0.0275 to 0.16 per sq. in. Includes outline/ditch quilting, many pattern changes, template/rulers, specialty borders, thread color changes, etc. Exact price is determined at consultation.
- Quilts under 2000in2 are charged according to the time required, $25/hr, even for edge-to-edge designs
Batting – I stock 80/20 Cotton/Polyester Hobbs Heirloom in both natural and white for your quilt. This is a medium loft batting. You may also supply your own batting. I can also assist in purchasing special battings for show quilts. See FAQ for more info.
$0.0025 per square inch – subject to change if supplier prices increase. Please note that cotton prices have increased and this charge may increase too without notice.
Thread – I have a variety of colors and types available. With your suggestions, I will select a thread that will compliment your quilt. Additional charges may be added for specialty threads (ie. vareigated or metallics). I frequently use Superior Threads as I feel they are excellent quality.
$1.50 per bobbin
Other Services - Pressing, trimming threads, squaring backings, etc – charged at $20 per hour, minimum $10 charge.
Binding - double fold binding (you supply fabric and I will make), machine stitched to the front and hand stitched to the back.
$0.35 per linear inch if I hand-finish
$0.12 per linear inch to just machine attach to front side of quilt (you hand stitch to back). I will prepare the binding.
5% Maine sales tax will be added to local orders.
Note: $50 minimum quilting charge.
Rush jobs desired faster than the current backlog supports - an additional $20
I gladly accept internet/mail order quilting. Shipping is at customer’s expense. I accept personal check, money order or can bill Paypal plus their 4% fees.
