Bertha"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>completed 2013<\/p>\n<p>99&#8243;x99&#8243;<\/p>\n<p>This show quilt took approximately 22 months from start to finish. \u00a0The center section with the dresden plates is all hand stitched. \u00a0Some machine embroidery was used for the bias\/piping and for the outer prairie points (which were stitched down). \u00a0An overall 600-700 hours was spent on the quilt. \u00a0The quilting was done using several shades of silk thread &#8211; 5 miles or so. \u00a0The red thread is a 40wt poly. \u00a0I spent about 150-175 hours on the quilting over the course of 6-7 weeks. \u00a0There are many motifs, with portions of the quilting motif or the piecing repeated. \u00a0I included feathers, straight and curved ruler work, and a multitude of fillers. \u00a0Some of the fillers were designed specifically for this quilt. \u00a0I finished the quilt with a scalloped binding.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<style type=\"text\/css\">\n\t\t\t#gallery-1 {\n\t\t\t\tmargin:
