My Secret Garden is constructed from brightly colored commercial cotton prints and Kaufman silk Radiance fabric (now discontinued). Original turned-edge applique is hand stitched on top of the machine pieced log cabin blocks. Wide appliqued floral borders finish the edges of the quilt. The quilting is stitched in both 40wt polyester as well as 100wt silk. Embroidery and couched satin thread has been hand added around some of the applique. There are also details of crystal and beading. The quilt is finished with a piped, scalloped edge binding.
