Original silk wholecloth. The quilting is freehand stitched using several shades of contrasting threads. Main motifs are quilted using 40 wt polyester thread, while all backgrounds are quilted with 100wt silk thread. Select areas were outline quilted with 30wt. Tire silk thread for accent. The quilt has a unique edge of covered-bead piping and silk/satin loops. When the quilting of this quilt frustrated me, I put it aside and began Persistent Peach, a silk quilt with matching peach threads and a very similar design.
